GATSBY NOTES & THOUGHTS ON CHAPTER 8

1. Gatsby is telling nick that daisy is going to leave tom
2. Nick tells Gatsby to leave Long Island until the scandal of Myrtle's death has gone down. Gatsby didn't consider it because he couldn't leave Daisy until he knew what she was gonna do.
3. Gatsby left Daisy with her thinking that Gatsby was wealthy when in reality he was poor.
4. I think the author interrupted the tense relationship dialogue with a secondary character mention of the pool to let the readers know that throughout the drama people are still living their lives. I think it's important for Gatsby to swim at least once in his own pool to feel a little relived.
5. I think the action represents the whole idea of the novel, the climax and the resolution at the same time.

my thoughts on chapter 8 is that its a bit confusing because daisy seems to really want to be with gatsby but she doesn't want to leave tom also. there's a lot of things going on between gatsby, daisy, and tom.
